When I read your question topic I thought why in the world would anyone want to dumb down their resume?

I wouldn't dumb it down. You can have a few of the computer skills added to your resume and if they ask you in for an interview you, and they ask you about what kinds of computer skills you have you can add more then.

If you dumb it down, in my opinion you may miss out on a job opportunity. If they bring up the pay difference you can simply state that their job is closer to home, and less travel time, which means less expenses.

Comment on I have been married for 4 years, I got married at age 18, and I am 22 now! We have tried everything to prevent divorce but nothing worked! Went to marriage counseling 3 seperate times!! All we do is fight and argue, he is very verbally abusive! We have a lot of debt, and I know that most marriages end due to financial issues, but with us its more then that! I don’t want negative feedback, I just want advice!! We have a house that we bought about 3 yrs ago, and we still owe A LOT on it! We have placed it on the market 2 times, and with the economy as bad as it is, we had no luck! I don’t want to foreclose or file bankruptcy but those may be our only options, as neither one of us can afford the house with only one income! Also, neither one of us want the house!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!! by jude

Comment on We are in the process of buying a house. The seller failed to mention that he had stopped making payments. The foreclosure process began last week. We were scheduled to close yesterday but now waiting for the title to clear. I’m afraid that the payoff will not be enough to cover the seller’s original loan. Will they still sell the house to us and make him liable for the remaining amount on his loan? Can we even continue with the purchase? According to our loan officer and realtor this can be fixed and a lawyer is working on it. Anyone else been in this situation?
We wont be doing a short sale or waiting 3 months. We were supposed to be living in the house right now! by wizjp

Because they have loaned money against that value, meaning they would lose money. Heaven forbid they should look at this as a human issue and not a money issue. I have been screaming now for 6 years that I think they should split the loss between the homeowner and themselves and keep a home from foreclosure and keep a client. Ya know like The Bailey savings and loan. That's just not in the cards I guess.

Comment on We moved in January 1st. We signed a lease that stated we had already paid the deposit and 1st months rent. The landlord signed and gave us a copy. We had not paid all of the deposit and were making payments to her.

After two months, she started demanding that we pay some previous electric AND gas bill. I called both utility companies, and the balances quoted to me from my landlord were from BEFORE we even moved in. She continued to demand that we pay those directly to her. We had already had them switched to our name and were paying then. In the lease it says that ALL utilities are to be paid to the utility company, but we didn’t even owe it.

Then we find out that the house we have rented has been in foreclosure status for 6 months. There was a sale and everything. When confronted, she told us it was none of our business. She continued to attempt to get us to pay utilities of hers and then finally told us we could move out if we just paid her the utilities (that we didn’t owe!). We went ahead and moved and of course didnt pay her that.

Now she is suing us in small claims for rent and utilities. I have the email where she told me to just pay her the utilities and move out. Wasn’t worried about the rent. Will that be enough or are we screwed? I guess it was pretty naive of us to think she’d let us out of the lease since she was obviously trying to ***** us from day one. We just had to get out of that situation, though. She was constantly calling and emailing and stopping by. Banks and realtors were calling and stopping by as well so we know the foreclosure occurred. by tehabwa

Comment on I’m recently married (Aug. 22, ‘09) and we are talking about buying a house together. I have a bankruptcy in late ‘05 and we’re looking for ways to buy this home. I’ve never bought a home before and I’m looking at every possible outlet to start the process. I’m just worried that I won’t be allowed to get anything. I make 50K/year and in school to double that in 2-3 years. I’m 31 years old.

I really had no choice with the bankruptcy. I was young and had zero money and i was just sinking deeper and deeper into trouble. Now, I’m stable and married and ready to take that next step. I’ve had credit issues, but have since paid off what was on my report or had some things removed. I would also like to get a credit card, but have been denied because of the bankruptcy. I’m just trying to improve my credit. Just having a hard time finding ways to do it.

What is the best option here? I’ve been looking into an FHA loan but don’t know where to start or who to talk to. I just want to put my toe in the water and get the ball rolling to at least see what I’m looking at in the future.

Thanks. by sfuller94

My best suggestion would be for you to call a Lender directly. We have our home loans through Chase Bank. I would give them a call.

You probably make too much money to qualify for an FHA. Thus, you'll go along ways in showing the banks your worthiness if you are sporting the 20% down. As well, your wife's income will be accounted for in the process.

Here's a quick calculation to help guide you along the way. Take all of your assets (clothes, tv's, cameras, radios, etc, etc) and add up their resale value. Include all of your cash, savings and 401k or IRA accounts. Minus from this all of your debts. This is your net worth. Having a positive net worth, a cash savings as well as 20% down will go a long ways.

You need to account for student loans also.

Good luck!
